Dog Rescue & Sanctuary Near Towson, Maryland
Towson is the Baltimore County seat, south of our farm-country home in Upperco. It’s a town full of students, families and dog people, and there are lots of ways to help from here.
Towson and Petey’s Promise
Petey’s Promise isn’t located in Towson; our dogs live and train in Upperco. For Towson residents, we’re a small Baltimore County rescue where you can see exactly who your help goes to, by name.
Students and campus groups often ask how to help. Supply drives, fundraisers and sharing our adoptable dogs online all make a real difference, and none of them need a car.
Found a lost or stray dog in Towson?
Towson is in Baltimore County. Contact Baltimore County Animal Services, which handles stray, lost and surrendered animals across the county. A microchip scan is the fastest route home.
If the dog needs a longer road than a shelter can offer, tell us. Capacity is limited, so we can’t promise intake.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Petey’s Promise?
Petey’s Promise is a dog rescue and sanctuary effort growing out of Lyndsey Morgan’s rescue work with Obedient BLUE. It helps homeless, abandoned, medically or behaviorally challenged, senior and sanctuary dogs get food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, shelter and long-term support. Read our mission.
Can I surrender a dog?
We can’t promise intake. Space, resources and each dog’s needs determine what we can take on. Please contact us with details about the dog and your situation, or call (443) 377-6919, and we’ll respond as soon as we can.
Can I volunteer?
Volunteer roles are still being organized. Send a volunteer inquiry and we’ll be in touch as opportunities open up. Submitting an inquiry doesn’t guarantee a position.
Can I donate supplies?
Yes. Food, treats, beds, cots, crates, leashes, collars, cleaning supplies, towels, blankets, enrichment items and training equipment are always useful. See Donate Supplies.
