Information you give us
Contact, volunteer and fundraising forms
When you use a form on this site we collect the details you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, location, availability, interests and message. We use this information only to respond to you and to follow up on your request.
If you email us, or if a form hands your message to your own email app, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We keep this correspondence only as long as needed to help you and to keep reasonable records.
User-submitted information
Please don’t send sensitive personal information (such as financial account numbers or government ID numbers) through our forms. If you share information about a dog you need to rehome, we use it only to respond to you.
Information collected automatically
Analytics
This website is prepared to use privacy-respecting analytics (such as Google Analytics 4) to understand which pages are useful, for example how many people view a dog’s profile or click a sponsorship button. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. If analytics is enabled, this policy will name the provider.
Cookies
The site itself doesn’t need cookies to work. Analytics tools, if enabled, may set cookies to count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use this site.
Server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider may record basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, for security and reliability.
Payment processors
This website does not currently process payments and does not collect card or bank information. If online donations are activated in the future, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor under its own privacy policy, and this policy will be updated before that happens.
Third-party links, including Amazon
This site links to other websites, including our Amazon Wish List. When you leave this site, the other website’s privacy policy applies. Purchases made through Amazon are between you and Amazon; we may see the name and message Amazon shares with a gift, but we do not receive your payment information.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only when needed to respond to you (for example, with a volunteer coordinating an event you asked about), when required by law, or with service providers that help run this website.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your choices
You can ask us to update or delete information you’ve sent us by contacting us at the email above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the organization and website grow. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Petey’s Promise?
Petey’s Promise is a dog rescue and sanctuary effort growing out of Lyndsey Morgan’s rescue work with Obedient BLUE. It helps homeless, abandoned, medically or behaviorally challenged, senior and sanctuary dogs get food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, shelter and long-term support. Read our mission.
What is a sanctuary dog?
A sanctuary dog stays in permanent or long-term care because traditional adoption would not be safe or appropriate for them, often because of medical needs, age, behavior history, bite history or special handling requirements. Sanctuary is a commitment to give them a good life anyway. Learn about sanctuary care.
Can I sponsor a specific dog?
Yes. When you sponsor, you can choose a specific dog or support the rescue wherever the need is greatest.
Is Petey’s Promise a nonprofit?
Petey’s Promise is in the process of establishing its formal nonprofit structure. We’ll publish organizational details when they’re official. See Organization Status.
