Rescue Dog Medical Care Near Towson, Maryland
Most rescue dogs need a vet before anything else, and that care is our biggest expense. Towson supporters help make sure no dog in our Upperco program goes without it.
The care your support provides
Each dog gets an intake exam, vaccines and parasite treatment, followed by diagnostics, surgery and medication where needed. Dogs with chronic conditions get an ongoing care plan.
Some cases are urgent. Ricky came off the streets of Texas with a gunshot wound through his shoulder. Treating what the body needs always comes first.
This care is for dogs in our program. Petey’s Promise is not a veterinary clinic and doesn’t treat pets for the public.
Helping from Towson
Small, steady gifts add up. A $15 monthly sponsorship, or a campus or club drive for one dog’s surgery, goes straight to vet bills.
If your own pet needs care, please contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Petey’s Promise?
Petey’s Promise is a dog rescue and sanctuary effort growing out of Lyndsey Morgan’s rescue work with Obedient BLUE. It helps homeless, abandoned, medically or behaviorally challenged, senior and sanctuary dogs get food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, shelter and long-term support. Read our mission.
Can I surrender a dog?
We can’t promise intake. Space, resources and each dog’s needs determine what we can take on. Please contact us with details about the dog and your situation, or call (443) 377-6919, and we’ll respond as soon as we can.
Can I volunteer?
Volunteer roles are still being organized. Send a volunteer inquiry and we’ll be in touch as opportunities open up. Submitting an inquiry doesn’t guarantee a position.
Can I donate supplies?
Yes. Food, treats, beds, cots, crates, leashes, collars, cleaning supplies, towels, blankets, enrichment items and training equipment are always useful. See Donate Supplies.
