Rescue Dog Rehabilitation Near Towson, Maryland
North of Towson in Upperco, trainer Lyndsey Morgan helps rescue dogs who arrive scared, shut down or reactive learn that people, and the world, can be safe.
What rehabilitation involves
We start with decompression, which means rest, quiet and a routine the dog can count on. Next comes structure, with consistent handling and simple manners, then careful introductions to people, other dogs and new places.
Lyndsey has trained dogs professionally since 2007 and runs Obedient BLUE in Upperco. There’s no fixed timeline. Some dogs need weeks, others months, and some belong in sanctuary.
This is rehabilitation for dogs in our program. For your own dog, Obedient BLUE offers training services separately.
Helping from Towson
Not everyone can drive out regularly, and that’s fine. Sponsoring a dog in rehabilitation pays for the time it takes. Sharing adoptable dogs online helps them find homes once they’re ready.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Petey’s Promise?
Petey’s Promise is a dog rescue and sanctuary effort growing out of Lyndsey Morgan’s rescue work with Obedient BLUE. It helps homeless, abandoned, medically or behaviorally challenged, senior and sanctuary dogs get food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, shelter and long-term support. Read our mission.
Why can’t every dog be adopted?
Some dogs have ongoing medical conditions, a bite history, special handling needs or simply need more time. Placing them in a home that can’t meet those needs would put the dog and the family at risk. For these dogs, a stable sanctuary home is the safest, kindest option.
Can I volunteer?
Volunteer roles are still being organized. Send a volunteer inquiry and we’ll be in touch as opportunities open up. Submitting an inquiry doesn’t guarantee a position.
Where does my sponsorship money go?
Sponsorships support Petey’s Promise’s overall rescue and sanctuary work: veterinary care, food, medication, training and rehabilitation, safe housing, transportation, enrichment and emergency treatment. Funds may be used where the need is greatest.
