Rescue Dog Medical Care Near Westminster, Maryland

Before a rescue dog can heal, learn or be adopted, they need a vet. Supporters in Westminster and across Carroll County help pay for the care our Upperco dogs need first.

What your support pays for

Every dog gets an intake exam, vaccines and parasite treatment. When needed, that extends to diagnostics, surgery and medication, plus a long-term plan for dogs with ongoing conditions.

Ricky, also known as Ricochet, came to us from the streets of Texas with a gunshot wound through his shoulder. Cases like his are why medical care is our largest expense.

This care is for dogs in our program. Petey’s Promise is not a veterinary clinic and can’t treat pets for the public.

Helping from Westminster

Sponsorships and monthly gifts are what keep vet appointments booked. A Westminster church, school or club can also run a drive or fundraiser for a specific dog’s care.

If your own pet needs care, please contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital.

Monthly support lets us say yes to a dog before we know what their care will cost.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Petey’s Promise?

Petey’s Promise is a dog rescue and sanctuary effort growing out of Lyndsey Morgan’s rescue work with Obedient BLUE. It helps homeless, abandoned, medically or behaviorally challenged, senior and sanctuary dogs get food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, shelter and long-term support. Read our mission.

Can I surrender a dog?

We can’t promise intake. Space, resources and each dog’s needs determine what we can take on. Please contact us with details about the dog and your situation, or call (443) 377-6919, and we’ll respond as soon as we can.

Can I volunteer?

Volunteer roles are still being organized. Send a volunteer inquiry and we’ll be in touch as opportunities open up. Submitting an inquiry doesn’t guarantee a position.

Can I donate supplies?

Yes. Food, treats, beds, cots, crates, leashes, collars, cleaning supplies, towels, blankets, enrichment items and training equipment are always useful. See Donate Supplies.
