Rescue Dog Medical Care Near Owings Mills, Maryland

Medical care is where rescue starts and where most of the money goes. Supporters in Owings Mills help make sure no dog in our Upperco program waits on treatment.

What every dog receives

Each dog gets an intake exam, vaccines and parasite treatment. Diagnostics, surgery and medication come next as needed, along with ongoing care plans for dogs with conditions that won’t go away.

Some dogs arrive in crisis. Ricky was rescued from the streets of Texas with a gunshot wound through his shoulder. Whatever the body needs comes first.

This is care for dogs in our program. Petey’s Promise is not a veterinary clinic and doesn’t treat pets for the public.

Helping from Owings Mills

If your schedule is full, monthly giving is the easiest way to help, and it’s the steadiest source of vet funding we have. Workplace matching or a team fundraiser can stretch it further.

If your own pet needs care, please contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Petey’s Promise?

Petey’s Promise is a dog rescue and sanctuary effort growing out of Lyndsey Morgan’s rescue work with Obedient BLUE. It helps homeless, abandoned, medically or behaviorally challenged, senior and sanctuary dogs get food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, shelter and long-term support. Read our mission.

Can I surrender a dog?

We can’t promise intake. Space, resources and each dog’s needs determine what we can take on. Please contact us with details about the dog and your situation, or call (443) 377-6919, and we’ll respond as soon as we can.

Can I volunteer?

Volunteer roles are still being organized. Send a volunteer inquiry and we’ll be in touch as opportunities open up. Submitting an inquiry doesn’t guarantee a position.

Can I donate supplies?

Yes. Food, treats, beds, cots, crates, leashes, collars, cleaning supplies, towels, blankets, enrichment items and training equipment are always useful. See Donate Supplies.
