Dog Rescue Near Owings Mills, Maryland

From Owings Mills, Petey’s Promise is a straight run up I-795 and Hanover Pike to Upperco. We’re a small rescue for the dogs that busier systems can’t make room for.

How rescue works for Owings Mills dogs

Every rescue follows the same path. Intake and immediate needs come first: food, water, a safe space and rest. Then a veterinary evaluation, and a behavioral evaluation once the dog has settled. Rehabilitation follows, and at the end is adoption to the right family or a permanent place in sanctuary.

Dogs leave the noise behind when they come to us. Upperco’s quiet, rural setting gives stressed dogs the space to decompress before any real work begins.

We’re small and capacity is limited, so we can’t promise intake. Every message gets an honest reply.

What is Petey’s Promise?

Petey’s Promise is a dog rescue and sanctuary effort growing out of Lyndsey Morgan’s rescue work with Obedient BLUE. It helps homeless, abandoned, medically or behaviorally challenged, senior and sanctuary dogs get food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, shelter and long-term support. Read our mission.

Can I surrender a dog?

We can’t promise intake. Space, resources and each dog’s needs determine what we can take on. Please contact us with details about the dog and your situation, or call (443) 377-6919, and we’ll respond as soon as we can.

Can I adopt a dog?

Only dogs specifically listed as adoptable are available for adoption. Sanctuary residents are not.

Where does my sponsorship money go?

Sponsorships support Petey’s Promise’s overall rescue and sanctuary work: veterinary care, food, medication, training and rehabilitation, safe housing, transportation, enrichment and emergency treatment. Funds may be used where the need is greatest.
