Rescue Dog Rehabilitation Near Reisterstown, Maryland
A few miles north of Reisterstown, trainer Lyndsey Morgan helps rescue dogs who are fearful, shut down or reactive build the confidence to live with people again.
Patience, structure and trust
Rehabilitation starts with decompression: rest, quiet and a routine the dog can count on. Once they’re settled, we add consistent handling and basic manners, then gradual, positive exposure to people, other dogs and new places.
Lyndsey has trained dogs professionally since 2007 and runs Obedient BLUE in Upperco. Every dog moves at their own pace. Some take weeks, some take months, and some find a forever place in sanctuary.
This is rehabilitation for dogs in our program. For your own dog, Obedient BLUE offers training services separately.
Helping from Reisterstown
Dogs in rehabilitation need calm, consistent people. Reisterstown volunteers are close enough to come on a regular schedule for walks, enrichment and quiet socialization.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Petey’s Promise?
Petey’s Promise is a dog rescue and sanctuary effort growing out of Lyndsey Morgan’s rescue work with Obedient BLUE. It helps homeless, abandoned, medically or behaviorally challenged, senior and sanctuary dogs get food, veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, shelter and long-term support. Read our mission.
Why can’t every dog be adopted?
Some dogs have ongoing medical conditions, a bite history, special handling needs or simply need more time. Placing them in a home that can’t meet those needs would put the dog and the family at risk. For these dogs, a stable sanctuary home is the safest, kindest option.
Can I volunteer?
Volunteer roles are still being organized. Send a volunteer inquiry and we’ll be in touch as opportunities open up. Submitting an inquiry doesn’t guarantee a position.
Where does my sponsorship money go?
Sponsorships support Petey’s Promise’s overall rescue and sanctuary work: veterinary care, food, medication, training and rehabilitation, safe housing, transportation, enrichment and emergency treatment. Funds may be used where the need is greatest.
